A car rally by car lover for car lovers

The Vintage Car Rally in Sitges was born in 1959 thanks to an initiative to promote the tourism in Sitges. On February the 8th 1959 the first race was held with 23 cars. Since than the rally was held continuously until today. In its early years the rally was played during Carnival, but since 1988 the date was set to the first Sunday of March.

Nowadays the rally is traditionally one of the most important social events during the winter in Sitges. The race starts in Barcelona on the square of San Jaume. Hundreds of people are attending the event to admire the authentic vehicles. Not only Spanish people are attending the race, but there are participants from all over the World, including United States and United Kingdom.

The number of participants has increased in recent years to over 80 cars. You’ll also see museum pieces that are only getting out of the museum once a year to take part of the challenge. The race is not only about the fastest car, but many drivers are dressed like a driver from the 1920s. The winner of the race will get the so called Grand Prize for Elegance. The prices are provided by the government. To visit the car really have a look at the Web site of Ok Apartments Sitges for affordable accommodation in Sitges.

The next race will be held in the middle of March 2011. The start will be as usual in Barcelona at the square of San Jaume. And the drivers will go use the old road along the sea to go to Sitges. The route is an old one used for many eras along the Coast of Garraf. Some of the real vintage cars stop at the Marina on the way for a lunch. Most of the drivers wear classic outfits.

The town of Sitges is located about 20 minutes by train south of Barcelona. Other famous events in Sitges are the yearly Film Festival and the Carnival. If you want to see the start of the race you might want to stay in Barcelona. On Saturday, the day before the race, you can view the cars at Barcelona’s Parc de la Ciutadella. It’s possible to see the start and the finish of the race, but you need to take the train to Sitges directly after the start. As it’s about old cars the winner of the race depends more upon the car itself than the time taken to cover the distance, with extra points awarded for dressing up in the appropiate vintage attire.

When you are talking about the Ford Mustang, you are talking about one of the most famous and important muscles cars in the history of the United States. This massive supercar has had its inception back in the year of 1964 and when it was launched, it practically redefined what a muscle car really is. There were millions of people at that time to be very much dazed about it and this was reflected in the sales that the car has managed to reach.

Even more front bumpers were now required by the federal government in order to have low speed shunts sustained without taking any damage. Even though other car manufacturers out there coped with this new requirement, their cars ended looking a bit odd, but that was not the case with the new 1973 Ford Mustang. This model really did well and it managed to have some improved looks compared to other versions, even though it had to wear the front bumpers now.

Even though when it comes to the Sprint package things were left way behind and no one would remember it, there was still something that the base models could pick up on now, and this was the Mach 1 which came through an optional Dcor Group and it was stacked at . Also for the first time, there was a twin scoop hood available for it.

For it there was a dual tone paint used which was a matte silver or black finish and if you wanted that on your little beast, you needed to pay a mere . Another thing that was still down to the optional level was the Ram Air hood (which was functional) and it was sold with the 2 barrel 251 for the mere . Seems now that Ford Mustang Tuning wasnt needed anymore.

Tires were also very much taken into consideration and the polished aluminum wheels were now sold for a price that ranged from 1 to 2, successfully replacing the old Magnum 500 steel styled tires.

But when it comes to the engine Mustang had to stick with the regulations and thus it ended up to have its engines revamped. This lead to a power decrease which no one really wanted, but there wasnt anything to be done regarding it. As a result to this, the 2 barrel engine went down to 173 HP and the 4 barrel version went to just 259. It wasnt much, but for many this was something serious. You wouldnt have to consider Ford Mustang Tuning with such a beast.

If you have this beauty of a car, then you will need to take a close look to it, as there are many modifications you can make. First of all, you will need to consider a turbo charger or a supercharger. Something about the suspension must also be done, so take a look at it and try to tweak it as per your preferences and requirements. Maybe you need your car to be able to perform sharp turns really accurate and be very responsive at the same time.

If you know something about car mechanics, you can tweak the engine a little bit to get that boost that will make you say wow while behind the wheel. You can also upgrade the gearbox if you hate the third gear and you will see a good improvement in driving pleasure.

If you want to know more about Ford Mustang Tuning and Polo Tuning, you should delve into checking out the specialized websites, as they will let you in to the answers of every of your questions.

Over 00 in VW parts and restoration services to be given away.

Ventura CA, June 25, 2009. Airhead Parts (www.airheadparts.com) of Ventura CA has put together a contest with other leaders in the vintage VW market, CB Performance & Hot VWs Magazine to welcome Karmann USA’s new division, Karmann Classics, a division dedicated to the restoration of Vintage VW convertible tops, originally produced by Karmann for VW of Germany for all VW Beetle & Karmann Ghia Convertibles.

1st place prize for Bug or Ghia convertibles is a complete new top installation by Karmann Classics and free transportation to and from their Plymouth MI factory provided by Angel Auto Transport of Ohio. 1st place prize for all other vintage VW hardtop models including the VW Micro Bus and Vanagon is 00 in restoration parts from Airhead Parts. Four 2nd place prizes will be 0 gift certificates, good for exclusive CB Performance products. For more info or to enter the contest, go to: www.airheadparts.com/contest

How it started:Ford, GM & Chrysler, aside from sharing hard times also share Karmann USA, supplier of CV top assemblies for Mustang, G-6 and Sebring Models. With too many eggs in too few baskets, Karmann wanted a proactive approach; so they contacted Scott Dempster, Vintage VW expert and owner of Airhead Parts, an aftermarket manufacturer of original style (OE) parts for all vintage Volkswagen models

“Adding the Karmann Classics division is a smart step”, says Dempster. “Unlike new car manufactures, vintage VW parts sales at Airhead Parts have been stellar since early 2008. The air-cooled VW is still the most economical car in the world. Not only can owners do most repairs, where can one find a full set of brakes, a major tune up kit, or an exhaust system for under ? The vintage VW Beetle, Bus, or Ghia have always been a very affordable hobby, but we are seeing more resurrected for their original purpose: Affordable Transportation”.

To get it right, Steffen Leopoldsberger, manager of Karmann Classics brought German service technicians from Karmann of Germany to share their old world knowledge with Karmann USA’s current production-line techs. Leopoldsberger said, “Our techs thought there was very little [the German Techs] could show us. But after they were here, it was agreed that they showed us a lot”.

Drawing to be held Oct 4th at the Las Vegas Bug-In. Contestants need not be present to win.

200 runner up prizes will also be awarded.

Airhead Parts, founded by Scott Dempster in 1989 as Karmann Ghia Parts & Restoration (www.karmannghia.com), expanded to all vintage VWs models in 2004. Airhead Parts mission statement is simply; The most VW parts at discount prices with friendly, knowledgeable service, for all classic Volkswagens including Bus & Vanagon, parts & accessories, original or econo. International and domestic orders ship same day from there warehouse on the West Coast. Classic VW parts is all they do.

Article by David Collins

We all have our own favourite make or model of car, whether it’s a souped-up sports car or a vintage classic. Many enthusiasts will spend hundreds, even thousands of pounds on maintaining and improving their vehicles.

Classic car enthusiasts pride themselves on maintaining older cars, working diligently to restore the vehicle to its former glory before driving them to ‘rallies’ in order to show them off and talk shop with fellow car enthusiasts.

Depending on the make and model of your chosen vehicle, finding spare parts and affordable car insurance can be a difficult business. With modern cars, stockists exist everywhere from the high street to online superstores – which sell everything from air fresheners to alloy wheels.

When searching for vintage car parts, however, your search may be limited, but knowing where to look can bring great results, allowing you to find the parts you need to help restore the vehicle to its original state. However, nowadays it can be worth looking to the Internet for such information, for many enthusiasts set up their own websites in order to show off photos of their cars, but also to post handy step-by-step guides on a wide variety of restoration jobs and may even offer spare parts for sale.

This can be very helpful in your quest for advice about your chosen vehicle, and can also help to put you in touch with other enthusiasts – who could offer a wide range of valuable information about finding spare parts and insurance.

Finding cheap car insurance for such vehicles can also be a frustrating, not to mention expensive process. There are a few companies which offer specialist cover for vintage and classic cars, so it’s best to shop around for quotes before deciding on one in particular. Indeed, as more enthusiasts make use of the World Wide Web in order to sell parts and offer advice, many are also turning to the internet in order to find affordable quotes on their classic car insurance.

These specialist providers will usually take into account the age and make of the vehicle. Many enthusiasts will only use their vehicles for the purposes of rallies and car shows, rather than using them as an everyday car – mostly due to their lower speeds, roadworthiness and rarity – however the vehicles are still required to be insured, even if the vehicles are only going to be used occasionally.

Just how difficult is it to find car parts online? A recent Google search on “car parts” brought up over 25 million hits, most of which had a very great deal to do with car parts. The UK has a wealth of car breakers, scrap yards, car salvage and warehouses, and parts for sale on the internet. Auto traders abound and many sites have search features where you can input a specific part, and they will locate it for you. There are deals of every kind imaginable, from combined shipping rates to discounts guaranteed to make the stingiest mechanic happy.

Some sites specialise, in old car parts for example, or in particular parts, like catalytic converters, brakes, or radiators. There are sites for foreign cars, American cars, vintage cars, lorries and caravans. If you have a part need, check the internet first. Using search engines on the various sites is generally an easy task. You put in what you want and hit search. Results that come back generally are in order of relevance to the words you used, so it helps to be specific, if you can. People who have used the car parts locating services on a variety of sites have reported that within minutes of their requests they have received notification of parts available from the vendors who are participating. Buying parts on line is fast, and saves time, which saves money.

So if you are repairing, or even restoring a car, you’ll want to consider the option of buying car parts online. Most vendors know their reputation depends on doing quality business, and are not out there to cheat the customer. This is really yet another form of e-business and one that does very well by the look of it. Even if it is just to bring a part in hand to your mechanic, it still saves time to buy it online. Generally the car part you buy will be at your door within two to three business days, depending on the method of shipping, and sooner in some cases. Again, with the plethora of online sites from which to choose your part, you’ll find two or three to which you will continually return.

You found your Dream car, it is going to need some old car parts whether it is regular maintenance or a full restoration project. The question you have now is how do I find the old car parts I am going to need. Should I buy new or used? The web has become an invaluable tool for me to find the old car parts for my classic ride, let me share with you some tricks of the trade. Here is one of the main websites I use to get most of my Vintage Car Parts. Its called OldCarsCheap.com and it is great for researching what the going price is on the old car parts before heading to the junk yard. Or you can buy right online there as well. If you are on a tight budget, then you are probably looking at used old car parts. If you are on a restricted budget, you will find yourself calling around from dealer to dealer, and out walking around all the local junk yards finding the deals. Classifieds are another option, either the old car parts section in the newspaper, or even through local vintage car clubs.Make sure you take care to properly inspect the parts before taking them home If you can get new parts, this will give you the highest quality, but if you have any experience with old cars, you will soon find out, the new part option is limited. Especially if you are after a tail light, or rear view mirror. As long as you do your homework online, you will get good quality parts. One way to ensure this the feedback score. You are better off avoiding any vendors who have a low feedback score. Generally 30 or higher is very safe.If you aren’t having much luck finding car parts, used parts were not available and new parts were no longer manufactured, then you may have to consider fabrication. This is going to cost you a bit more, but you will get the exact old car part you need. Use all the resources you have wisely, a site like OldCarsCheap.com is very efficient and will keep lots of money in your pocket buying old car parts online. I hope you found this information useful, good luck with your restoration project. Keep the shiny side up!How I found my 69 Camaro For SaleHow I found my 69 Camaro For Sale

Whenever you draw, you would always draw what interest you. Many car lovers want to draw cars and many of them spend some time to know how to draw old cars. An old fashion car is one of the most enjoyable things to draw because of its beautiful and overstated shapes and appearance. Although, personally it seems complicated, yet old cars are easy to draw as long as you know the basic geometric shapes.

For first timer, here are some basic steps on how to draw old cars.

The first thing you need to do is to study every details of a classic car, whether in photograph, on the internet or in reality. Take notice on the main shapes and how these shapes come as one.

After learning the important points of a classic car, now you will need your drawing paper and pencil to begin with your actual drawing. It’s better to use HB pencil when you draw. In your paper sketch a big rectangle, above it to the right half draw another rectangle with a partially slanted left end. And then above the second rectangle draw a very thin rectangle with slanted roof. You can make a windshield by drawing a slanted box, or by connecting the left ends of the second and third rectangle, make sure to form a box when you connect the left ends. On both end of the first rectangle, put a circle, these will serve as the wheels. Then draw an incomplete circle within the first rectangle to create the extra tire.

On the first step you draw the skeleton of the car, now it is time to incorporate some details to it. On the roof, add a curve line. Then add another circle within the two wheels, and draw an incomplete circle inside the extra tire. To make the running board and fenders, you need to add curve lines to the wheel along the base of the car.

The third step is the putting of hubcaps. On the wheels and extra tire, add two smaller circles. To create the front grille and roof support columns, use straight line and curved lines. The illustration below will show the details for doing these.

The fourth step would be to add the doors. To create a door form, use curve and straight lines, then for the door handles draw tiny rectangles. To add more details for the spare tire, you may put four short erect lines on the front. Then for the bumper, place an upturned L-shaped form.

Then for the final touch, you will employ your shading skills. On the top part of the body, put tiny curved lines to emphasize the upper pattern. Then for the bumper, used straight and curved lines to stress out and complete the bumper as well as the trunk. To provide emphasis to the tires, running board, trunk and side windows, you will have to darken the shading to these areas. It also laid emphasis if you draw straight lines below the shaded part of the side windows.

These are the basic steps to be able to draw old cars. For first timer, you can always make use of the tracing technique; in this way you will be able to understand quickly every detail of an old car. However, you will do that not more than once, on the second attempt do it without tracing. Through constant practice and understanding the material you will be able to draw old cars easily.
